Post WWII cities such as Phoenix, Arizona develped around the automobile as a primary means of personal transportation. As a result, Phoenix has become plagued by sprawl with an estimated one-third of all land in the city devoted solely for the driving and parking of cars. As we near the global oil production peak, how can car-dependent cities, like Phoenix adapt to become more human-scaled?
