Civic Space

Spring 2008 - Professor Michael Underhill

The Civic Space Project is located in downtown Phoenix on the new Arizona State University Downtown Campus. The goal of the project is to blur the boundries between the city and the university. The Civic Space will act as a student union building and also community space to be used by the people of downtown Phoenix. The project stands in the shadow of an enourmous illuminated metal mesh public art piece that is suspended in the the sky by steel masts.
